Ear Infections

Ear infections can be a common childhood problem and can also occur occasionally in adults.  Additionally, on our health program, old ear infections from childhood can flare up again many years later as part of a healing reaction. What is occurring is that the original infection from childhood didn’t fully go away, and traces of infection were left in the area.  On our health program, the immune system gets stronger and now wants to go in and clear out those traces that were left. This creates all of the typical symptoms of an ear infection. Antibiotics are rarely if ever needed in this situation.

For all ear infections, whether childhood or adult or retracing of old ear infections, use of a single heat lamp is extremely helpful.  Aim it at the ear for up to 10 minutes at a time up to 6 times per day.  If both ears are infected, use the lamp for 5 minutes on each ear up to 6 times per day.  You can read more about Single Heat Lamp Therapy here.

Also, for all ear infections, Mullein Garlic Oil can be helpful.  We carry this here, and we recommend that you warm it to body temperature if you can before using it. The following are instructions for use from the manufacturer:

Lastly, lymphatic massage for the ears is very helpful! Here is a video on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAs9uFYvcrk. You can do this all throughout the day to move some of the backed up fluid and relieve ear pain and pressure.

Feel free to use the single heat lamp, garlic oil, and lymphatic massage on your own without need to contact us for guidance on this, but please contact me if you are experiencing a strong or persistent ear infection.
